Wear Your Closet Challenge: Outfits 20–26
Welcome to week four of the Wear Your Closet Challenge! I decided to challenge myself to wear different items every single day for the entire month of January as a way to figure out what I love to wear, discover any glaring wardrobe holes, and determine if anything needs to leave my wardrobe (and what).
Below are outfits 20-26 along with my thoughts on them and what activities each was worn for! The final five outfits and a recap will be published February 1st. Follow along on Instagram to see the rest of the outfits in real time on Instagram stories. I’m also sharing one more weekly outfit recap reel this weekend. Watch the week 1 reel (outfits 2-6), week 2 reel (outfits 9-13), and week 3 reel (outfits 16-20)!
Two other creators are also wearing their closets this month, so be sure to check out their outfits and thoughts as we take on the challenge together: Rebecca of PhD in Clothes and Molly Wetta (formerly of Librarian Style). Join the fun by tagging us and using hashtag #wearyourcloset2023!

Wear Your Closet Challenge: Outfits 20–26
Outfit 20 • Friday, January 20th
TGIF! I worked from home and then changed into jeans to go out to dinner with my family for my brother’s birthday. This sweater is a real oldie-but-goodie that I still love to wear. These jeans are new additions; I purchased them off of Poshmark! They’re a pair of Old Navy warm jeans, meaning they are brushed on the inside for extra warmth. I ordered a couple of pairs in black back in December but neither size fit me, and once I knew what size I’d be, I turned to Poshmark and found these NWT jeans! I’d love to buy more off of Poshmark this year.
I also wore my burgundy lugsole boots, but I wouldn’t wear them again with these jeans. The length of the jeans was both too short (to tuck into the boots) and too long (they bunched awkwardly at the top of the boots). Demi-boot or wide leg jeans would have worked better with these boots. Or a more cropped pair of skinny jeans. Next time!

Outfit 21 • Saturday, January 21st
After having a very busy weekend a week ago, we had a very lazy Saturday. I didn’t even put in a pair of contacts! I slept in, photographed some things for Poshmark, and then I took an afternoon nap. The dream, TBH. (Oh and I watched lots of gymnastics in between.) A cropped sweatshirt and cozy sweatpants were just what I needed. These sweatpants are officially the last pair of lounge pants I have to wear this month!

Outfit 22 • Sunday, January 22nd
Sunday was almost as lazy as Saturday! I once again watched a lot of gymnastics, and I can’t really remember what else I did now that I’m writing this a few days later, lol. I just stayed home with my cats, which is where you can find me 95% of the time haha. I haven’t worn this fleece dress in a while. I love the idea of it so much, but I don’t like being cold and always reach for joggers or sweatpants before this dress to keep my legs warm. (I do realize a blanket would also do the trick, but I usually have a blanket over me even if I’m wearing pants!) The sleeves are also just a touch too short.

Amour Vert dress / old; similar from Amazon (last seen here)
Cabela's slippers / old; similar by Minnetonka via Zappos, Nordstrom, or Nordstrom Rack
Everlane hat / old; similar from Nordstrom Rack
Outfit 23 • Monday, January 23rd
Another Monday, another day in the office! A sweater + jeans + boots is my go-to winter outfit combination, and this outfit is made more interesting by the textures and various shapes (balloon sleeves, demi-boot jeans, and pointed patent boots). Little details like those can really take an outfit from meh to repeat-worthy! I absolutely adore these chelsea boots. They remain probably my best ever Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchase.
Just like with the cardigan, I swear this alpaca sweater looks so much worse in photos than it does in person. It looks all pilled and generally in rough shape, but in person it seems to just be textured that way intentionally. I think it does pill pretty easily, though. I layered it over a Heattech tank (love Uniqlo’s Heattech!) and added my demi-boot jeans. I love this style of denim, and the stretch in these jeans makes them one of my favorites to wear when I know I’m going to be sitting the majority of the day.
OUTFIT DETAILS
Quince sweater / exact or similar by Everlane (review here)
Madewell jeans / exact via Zappos, Nordstrom, or Bloomingdale's
Marc Fisher boots / old; similar
Everlane hat / old; similar by Athleta
Outfit 24 • Tuesday, January 24th
Tuesday was another office day. I’ve been taking advantage of the dry weather and wearing shoes that I only wear if it’s not precipitating! I hadn’t worn these lace-up boots in a while. The color is a little trickier for me to style for some reason unbeknownst to me. I thought they coordinated well with my oatmeal-colored cashmere (the sweater and boots act as “bookends” in this outfit, which I love). I wouldn’t wear these particular jeans with these boots again probably because the lengths conflicted with each other. Korri laughed and said “babe’s baggy pants” when he saw me getting ready in the morning, lol. He hates this style so much. 😆
OUTFIT DETAILS
Universal Standard sweater / exact or similar by Quince (review here)
Madewell jeans / exact (also available from Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, or Zappos)
Earth boots c/o / old; similar from Nordstrom Rack or Zappos
Outfit 25 • Wednesday, January 25th
I spent part of Wednesday at the dentist and part of it working from home. At the dentist, I learned that I needed a therapeutic dental cleaning. If you google that, you’ll wonder why it’s called a therapeutic dental cleaning because nothing about it sounds therapeutic. Wish me luck! 😵💫 These wide leg pants from Vetta are not technically lounge pants but they’re comfy enough to be lounge pants. I kept the rest of the outfit super casual with the cropped sweatshirt and sneakers.
OUTFIT DETAILS
Everlane sweatshirt / old; similar by Target or Amazon
Vetta Capsule pants / exact or similar by H&M (pleated version)
Earth sneakers c/o / old; similar by Nordstrom Rack

Wrapping up this week of outfits with another WFH look! This was also the first time I repeated a major article of clothing during this challenge (not counting slippers and jewelry/accessories). This outfit is comfy to the max, and I love the color combination. I purchased my first Barefoot Dreams cardigan during a past Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and have been just loving it so much I ordered another! I wear mine layered over tanks because there isn’t quite enough room to layer over other tops.
