Fall 2023 Wardrobe Additions
This past fall was one of my lightest quarters ever—I only added seven new items to my wardrobe. It was a combination of travel (I spent a lot of money on our Europe trip) and just feeling a little burned out from shopping. I have a bunch of clothes I already don’t wear (or can’t because they don’t fit anymore), and I have so much to list on Poshmark that I can’t think about adding new items unless I KNOW something will make an immediate impact in my wardrobe. I’m really trying to go into 2024 with a less is more mindset when it comes to clothes.
Here’s my fall 2023 clothing budget update: everything I added to my wardrobe this past September, October, and November! (ICYMI, I’m adding all of my 2023 clothing purchases to this Pinterest board.) I also shared what’s coming up for winter, and I didn’t return any of my purchases this past quarter!

Fall 2023 Clothing Budget & Wardrobe Additions
$600 (quarterly budget) = $600 - $586.50 ($136 September + $216.50 October + $234 November) => $13.50 left over
Items I added to my wardrobe:
Lululemon Align High-Rise Pant with Pockets 25" (seen here | paid $136)
I finally visited the store and tried these leggings on, and I get the hype now. Lol. I ended up ordering them in size 6 (both sizes 6 and 8 fit me) and brought them on our Europe trip. They’ve been my go-to legging since! I’m planning to buy another pair in size 8 because I hate when these are dirty, and I have another Amex offer to use! I may also try some similar options; I’ve heard Aerie has a great version.
Madewell Corduroy Baseball Cap (seen here | paid $26.50 | originally $36)
You know I love a good baseball cap! I ordered this one because I LOVED the color and I’m a big fan of corduroy, and once I put it on I was sold. It’s the perfect size for my head! I’m so tempted to buy the blue color now that it’s on sale. The only issue is that I can’t machine wash it…
Madewell The Crossbody Bag Strap: Webbing Edition (paid $2 | originally $38)
This is a somewhat random purchase! I purchased the large Transport Camera Bag last year and it came with two straps, including a webbed strap that was half black and half ivory. I really love the ivory strap included with the English saddle color (I’m still tempted to buy this bag because I use my black bag so often) and decided to grab the all-black version of the strap before it sold out. I haven’t used it yet bc to be honest I’m not sure where it is at the moment, but it’ll be a perfect way to dress down the bag a bit!
Madewell Petite Curvy Stovepipe Jeans in Black Rinse Wash (paid $93 | originally $138)
I tried these jeans on in store a few months ago and used one of my $50 coupons for donating a pair of my old jeans on these! (It was kind of a pain because the code wouldn’t work, but Madewell applied it for me no problem when I reached out.) I haven’t owned a pair of true black jeans in a few years so I’m excited to have a pair again. And the stovepipe style is a great straight leg option! I do wish the jeans were softer; the texture is a little bit rough. I took these in a size 28.
Nisolo Go-To Lug Chelsea Boot (paid $151.50 | originally $228)
Alyssa of Wayward Blog reviewed these boots, and I was sold! I’ve been wanting to add more cute waterproof boots that don’t look like rain boots. These are perfect—you can wear them in inclement weather, and they work just as well if it’s dry out! I tried the Amalia boot in the past and they didn’t work for me, so I was a little nervous for these but they actually fit much better. The Amalias rubbed the top of my feet, and these do a little bit but definitely not as much. They are not very warm in cold weather, so I wouldn’t recommend them for snowy or very cold climates. I sized up a half size to a 7.5.
Nisolo Huarache Sandal (paid $82.50 | originally $138)
I’ve had the huarache sandal on my wish list for so long now! This is the shoe I think of when I think of Nisolo. I’m pretty sure it’s their flagship shoe! I absolutely love the desert rose color; it blends into my skin tone so it almost looks like I’m not wearing shoes at all. I love it because I can pair them with pretty much any outfit and the clothes will be the focal point. I purchased these in my typical size 7. They’re stiffer than I had anticipated so will take some time to break in (especially around my heels), but I’m really excited for these. They’re gorgeous.
Vuori Restore Half Zip Hoodie (paid $95 | originally $118)
I saw Grace Atwood of The Stripe wearing this hoodie and was immediately sold. It’s SO SOFT and so comfy and thick. Ugh, I love it so much. It’s exactly what I’ve been wanting in a simple sweatshirt. I would wear this hoodie every day, and the only reason why I don’t is because I have a bunch of other clothes to wear LOL. (I’ve worn it 13 days so far.) Also, I’m a little bit scared to wash it because I don’t want it to shrink or become less soft. (Vuori claims it’ll get softer with wear, so maybe I shouldn’t be so nervous.) I took a size medium because I wanted it to fit my shoulders comfortably, and it’s perfect.
What’s on deck for winter:
I know I’ve gone a bit overboard with new Dagne Dover purchases this year…but this is my last one (for while, I’m pretty sure, lol). I honestly couldn’t get the new limited edition “microchip” color out of my head! It’s such a great green that doesn’t remind me of a military bag like their other green does. Plus, I’ve been wanting to try the Dakota backpack. Someone on my flight to Germany had this bag! The large Dakota should accomodate my laptop with its case, something the large Indi backpack cannot. I travel with my Indi for short trips when I don’t take my laptop, but I’m excited for another bag that fits over luggage handles, that can hold my laptop, and that I can carry on my back if needed. I’m curious to see how much this holds vs. the Landon.
It’s hard for me to resist Uniqlo on sale, and I also have been wanting to try their own affordable cashmere sweater option. I’m excited to try and review this one! I purchased the dark green color in size medium. Fingers crossed the fit is perfect (loose without being too oversized or sloppy).
Uniqlo’s round mini shoulder bags are definitely having a moment. The nylon of the regular bags makes them feel super casual. I spotted the corduroy version and needed to have one in my life. How cute are these?! The corduroy makes it slightly dressier and great for fall/winter occasions. I purchased the dark orange color because it looked like it could potentially pass for cognac brown, but I’m sort of wishing I had just gone with brown. We’ll see how it looks with the rest of my closet.
I’m obsessed with jacket; I already own an off white version of it from a few years ago. It’s so cozy and has held up beautifully after tons of wear and lots of washes. I purchased a second one in natural and in size medium for a looser fit (the size small I own still fits great but sometimes I wish it was looser so I could layer more easily).
