Dagne Dover Reviews
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been smacked in the face by Dagne Dover content over and over again this past year and finally gave in and placed my first order earlier this year. (I am VERY easily influenced, lol.) I gotta admit: I am impressed! I loved my bags so much that I just ordered another one recently, and I’m excited to review all of them for you after months of using them!
I was on the hunt for a travel bag that fit all my essentials and that fit under the seat in front of me on planes. I’m fairly picky when it comes to bags, and I wasn’t really sold on anything I saw. Dagne Dover bags sounded promising (even though they were on the pricey side) but I really wasn’t sure if the neoprene material would hold up. I’m thrilled to share my honest (and totally unsponsored) review of five Dagne Dover bags and if I think they’re worth it or not!
This post was updated and recirculated on October 28, 2024, and includes a review of my 5th Dagne Dover bag!
Dagne Dover Reviews
In this post, I share everything you need to know about Dagne Dover the brand, reviews of my five Dagne Dover bags, if I think they’re worth it, and where you can buy Dagne Dover! Here is my current Dagne Dover bag roundup:
What Is Dagne Dover?
Dagne Dover is a women-founded brand that focuses on making beautiful, practical bags for every season of your life. Dagne Dover is led by Melissa Mash, co-founder and CEO, Deepa Gandhi, co-founder and COO, and Jessy Dover, co-founder and CCO. I absolutely love that three women are running the ship—as women themselves, they know exactly what our bags need to be able to handle!
Where Are Dagne Dover Bags Made?
Dagne Dover used to produce their bags in New York City, where they are also designed, but an inability to scale the brand as much as they wanted to due to a low number of skilled handbag makers in the US (compared to apparel makers) led to the founders making the decision to move their manufacturing process to Vietnam about a year after starting the brand. The founders found a factory they love! Read more about that here.
Dagne Dover bags are unique from other bags because they’re made with a high-quality neoprene exterior and a REPREVE recycled polyester lining made from recycled water bottles. Many of their bags are 100% vegan while also being durable, modern, and stylish. All of the zinc alloy hardware is plated to match the color of the bag—a little detail I love! All of their bags also come with really nice dust bags to keep your bags protected and dust-free when not in use.

My first order included the Landon carryall bag because, like I mentioned earlier, I was looking for a carry-on bag that really maximized the space under the seat in front of me. Yeah, I could use the space to stretch out, but why do that when I can stuff a bag full of more things. 😆 I ordered a size large because others said that size fit under the seat just fine! I picked the tan color called camel because I read reviews saying things get lost more easily in the darker colors.
The large Landon carryall bag features two interior air mesh pockets on the sides, a large interior laptop sleeve with a velcro strap (can fit up to 16” laptops; my 14” laptop with its thick case just barely fits), an air mesh pouch attached to a stretch key leash, a bag for shoes (or whatever else, like dirty laundry), a luggage handle sleeve, a small pocket on the back, and a removable crossbody strap. The bag opens very wide and features a zipper closure. The ends of the zippers snap down at the sides or you can leave them unsnapped (like I do) for maximum space. The air mesh pouch is the perfect size for passports!
When I received this bag, I was skeptical of it fitting under an airplane seat when stuffed full, but I’m thrilled to say that it does—and I’ve stuffed it to the brim! On some airlines/planes, it has to lay on its side to fit, but it still fits! The neoprene has also held up so well. It has some stains from use (I am not gentle with my travel bags, so I’m not surprised), but overall it feels high quality and I haven’t had any other issues with it. I even walked through a full snowstorm for 10 minutes, and the bag got covered in snow. Somehow it dried without any staining and nothing inside got wet! So, I can also vouch for the material being water repellent.
I can fit a surprising amount of items inside. Besides my laptop, I also fit my Arlo tech organizer (read more on that below), the best travel toiletry bag, my Longchamp Le Pliage Neo tote (if I’m traveling for work), a crossbody bag (inside the Longchamp), my travel first aid kit, Kindle, headphones, bag of face masks, water bottle, and snacks. I have stuffed it to the point where I need Korri’s help closing it, and the zippers have held!
* FYI: I don’t see the extra small size on the Dagne Dover website anymore.
Arlo Neoprene Tech Organizer (camel, size large)
Colors: onyx, heather grey, dark moss, dune, storm, camel
Sizes: small, large
Material: Neoprene exterior, recycled polyester lining
Weight: 5 ounces (small), 10 ounces (large)
Volume: 1.3 L (small), 2.7 L (large)
Dimensions: 4.5” length, 5” height, 2.25” width (small); 8” length, 5.25” height, 3.25” width (large)
Shop: Arlo Tech Organizer ($50 for small, $70 for large)
Free shipping on orders $75+ and free exchanges ($10 fee for returns)
I also ordered the Arlo tech organizer in camel, size large at the same time as the Landon. It looked like the perfect travel companion. I was tired of just throwing in my cords and chargers all willy-nilly. Now, they’re perfectly organized! Plus, it matches my Landon, and all I do is throw it inside. I opted for the large size so it could hold more things (computer chargers, phone chargers, camera accessories, portable external SSD, etc.).
The Arlo tech organizer features a rigid neoprene exterior and lots of elastic loops and air mesh bags inside to keep your things organized. My Kindle fits on one side without its padded case. The interior pocket with “Dagne Dover” written on it doesn’t seem to be quite as useful—it’s very difficult to get things in and out of it. I’ve used it for storing long chargers. There’s also an air mesh pocket on the exterior for anything you may need at a moment’s notice.
Ace Neoprene Fanny Pack (camel)
Colors: onyx, heather grey, dark moss, dune, storm, camel (also available in air mesh: onyx, dark moss, warm dust)
Material: Neoprene exterior, recycled polyester lining
Weight: 9 ounces
Volume: 1 L
Dimensions: 9.25” length, 5.5” height, 2.75” width (at top), 0.5” width (at bottom)

I decided to throw the Ace fanny pack into my virtual cart at the same time as the other two bags. I mean, why not?! I wanted a fanny pack like this to take with me on our Royal Caribbean cruise earlier this year (proof in the photo above!) and for other travels, outings, and events, like concerts. It’s the perfect short bike ride companion (if your destination is a restaurant or ice cream shop, ha).
The Ace fanny pack features an adjustable strap, a small interior pocket for your license and a credit card, a small elastic loop for chapstick, and a key clip. There’s enough space to fit just the essentials: a small wallet, a phone (I have an iPhone 14), a travel-size bottle of sunscreen, and a face mask. You’ll also find a small zippered pocket on the front of the bag and a small open pocket on the back. I found that small back pocket to be the perfect spot for my SeaPass (the key card you use for everything on RC cruise ships). I’m surprised by how much I love and use this bag!
Indi Neoprene Diaper Backpack (storm, size large)
Colors: onyx, heather grey, dark moss, dune, storm, camel (also available in air mesh: onyx, dark moss, warm dust)
Sizes: small, medium, large
Material: Neoprene exterior, recycled polyester lining
Weight: 3 lbs (small), 3 lbs 8 oz (medium), 4 lbs (large)
Volume: 10.73 L (small), 16.39 L (medium), 17 L (large)
Dimensions: 10” length, 11” height, 6” width (small); 11.75” length, 12.75” height, 6.5” width (medium); 12.25” length, 13.75” height, 6” width (large)

The other bag I considered when I ordered my Landon was the Indi diaper backpack. Dagne Dover offers two backpack styles: the Indi and the Dakota neoprene backpack. The Dakota is your traditional backpack style. I preferred the open top of the Indi backpack; it’s easier to access things versus opening a backpack from the front. (Both of them have luggage handle sleeves.) As much as I love my Landon, it’s not the most comfortable bag to carry when I need to gate check my roller bag. A backpack is much easier to carry—on my back!
I decided to order the Indi diaper backpack more recently. I ordered it first in dark moss. I love the color in theory, but the bag looked too military for me. I even asked Korri what he thought and he said it looked like a military bag without me even mentioning that to him, lol. So, I exchanged the bag for storm, a beautiful navy. The exchange process was super easy; they mailed the new bag as soon as I dropped off the return. The color is very dark so I worry I will lose things in the bag like others have mentioned.
Because the Indi is a diaper backpack, it comes with a portable mini changing mat (pictured above) and interior pocket for a bottle (or… water bottle!). There’s also a small zippered pouch, a dust bag, and a laptop sleeve, but it fits 15” laptops, so my 14” laptop does not fit with its case. It does fit without the case. (The Dakota fits 16” laptops… I’m now thinking I might need to order that bag eventually too, lol. It’s also bigger than the Indi.) There are two front zippered pockets, two side pockets for bottled drinks, and hidden pockets in the back.
Dakota Neoprene Backpack (microchip, size large)
Colors: onyx, heather grey, dark moss, dune, storm, camel (also available in air mesh: onyx, dark moss, warm dust; microchip was a limited edition fall/winter 2023 color)
Sizes: small, medium, large
Material: Neoprene exterior, recycled polyester lining
Weight: 1 lb 10 oz (small), 2 lbs 3 oz (medium), 2 lbs 12 oz (large)
Volume: 8 L (small), 16 L (medium), 20 L (large)
Dimensions: 9.5” length, 13” height, 5” width (small); 11.5” length, 17” height, 5” width (medium); 13.25” length, 17.5” height, 5.25” width (large)
Shop: Dakota Backpack ($155 for small, $195 for medium, $215 for large)

I’m pretty sure I convinced myself that I needed to order the Dakota backpack after I originally wrote this review in August 2023. Turns out, I LOVE the Dakota backpack…and I love it even more than I do the Indi! The traditional backpack opening doesn’t bother me at all. I now understand why this bag is a Dagne Dover bestseller!
I ordered this backpack at the end of 2023 and didn’t use it for months afterward. I’m pretty sure it went on its maiden voyage sometime this summer, and it’s earned its place as my second go-to personal item behind my Landon carryall. The Landon is perfect for longer trips, and the Dakota is great for shorter trips. The volume of the Landon is 29 L vs. 20 L for the Dakota, so the Dakota fits slightly less.
This backpack is amazing! It features a large main pocket with an internal mesh pocket for a small laptop or tablet. My 14” laptop with its case does NOT fit inside this pocket, but there is a large zippered space at the back of the backpack that fits my laptop easily! I love how easy it is to access, too. There is also a small zippered pouch, two slip pockets, pockets built INTO the front panel that are only accessible from the inside, and an additional shoe bag.
There’s also a small front pocket with loops and key clip, two side pockets, a luggage handle sleeve, small zipper pockets on the side, and a pocket on the top where you can slip your phone (or ID, in my case—so easy for TSA!). The microchip color is a GREAT green; it’s more on the blue-ish side of green, so it doesn’t read military. Unfortunately, it was a limited edition color and is no longer available! I’m so glad I jumped on it when I could.
Is Dagne Dover Worth It?
Overall, I’m very impressed with my five Dagne Dover bags and have found the four that I’ve already used multiple times totally worth it. The Dagne Dover Landon carryall is a fantastic option for a carry-on travel bag (the large size fits under most airplane seats!), the Arlo tech organizer is perfect for corralling all the cords you may need, the Ace fanny pack is my new go-to travel crossbody bag, and the Dakota backpack is the perfect personal item for shorter trips. Plus, my laptop fits in the back pocket easily!
My laptop with its case cannot fit in the large Indi diaper backpack, so I find that I reach for the Dakota most often for traveling because of that. I did use the Indi once on a short trip when I did not bring my laptop, and it worked well.
