Winter 2024 Wardrobe Additions
Just like fall 2023, this past winter quarter was another light quarter when it came to new wardrobe additions—I only added six new items to my wardrobe. I still have tons of things to list on Poshmark and am trying to be REALLY picky about anything new coming in, especially because I feel like my body is still in flux (and I just started working out regularly, which is throwing a wrench into things). I also just have not been browsing websites as much.
Here’s my winter 2024 clothing budget update: everything I added to my wardrobe this past December, January, and February! (I will be adding all of my 2024 clothing purchases to a dedicated Pinterest board. My 2023 purchases are on this Pinterest board!) I also shared what I’m still deciding on, what I tried and returned, and what’s coming up for spring!

Winter 2024 Clothing Budget & Wardrobe Additions
$600 (quarterly budget) = $600 - $459 ($286 December + $37 January + $136 February) => $141 left over
Items I added to my wardrobe:
Dagne Dover Dakota Backpack (paid $161 | originally $215)
I went a bit overboard with new Dagne Dover purchases over the past year…but this is my last one (for while, I’m pretty sure, lol). I’ve been wanting to try the Dakota Backpack to see how it compared to the Indi Diaper Backpack, and I honestly couldn’t get the new limited edition “microchip” color out of my head! It’s such a great cool green that doesn’t remind me of a military bag like their other green does. I’ll do a full review and add it to my Dagne Dover Reviews.
Lululemon Align High-Rise Pant with Pockets 25" (paid $136)
Now that I’m taking barre classes regularly, I desperately needed another pair of leggings. I purchased the same leggings I already own in navy this time (I take size 6 but 8 also fits). Now I have three pairs of leggings I can cycle between! The 25” inseam is the perfect length on me.
Madewell Disney Mickey Mouse Graphic Tee (paid $37 | originally $59.50)
I did a double take when I saw this tee in stores last fall because it looked almost exactly like a Mickey Mouse tee I had (and wore until it was threadbare) as a kid! This tee is not as soft as the tee I wore to death as a kid, and it’s also quite cropped even in a size medium, so I debated keeping it… but I think it’ll work as more of a lounge tee or something I can throw on to go to barre!
Uniqlo Cashmere Crew Neck Long-Sleeve Sweater (paid $80 | originally $100)
I’m happy to now own Uniqlo’s own affordable cashmere sweater option. Full review to come! I purchased the dark green color in size medium. The fit is exactly what I was hoping for: loose without being too oversized or sloppy.
Uniqlo Corduroy Round Mini Shoulder Bag (paid $15 | originally $20)
Uniqlo’s round mini shoulder bags are definitely having a moment. The corduroy version feels slightly dressier than their popular nylon bag and is great for fall/winter occasions. I purchased the dark orange color because it looked like it could potentially pass for cognac brown, but it’s definitely more orange than brown. I haven’t had a chance to wear it out yet!
Uniqlo Fluffy Yarn Fleece Full-Zip Jacket (paid $30 | originally $40)
I’m obsessed with jacket; I already own an off white version of it from a few years ago. It’s so cozy and has held up beautifully after tons of wear and lots of washes. I purchased a second one in natural and in size medium for a looser fit (the size small I own still fits great but sometimes I wish it was looser so I could layer more easily). The medium is a lot bigger on me than I was expecting, but it is super cozy and I’ve already worn it a ton!
Item I’m still deciding on:
I was influenced by two other bloggers and finally ordered the Boden loafers! I had a hard time deciding between ginger snap (a light tan suede) and ecru (a creamy white leather) and ended up going with ginger snap because I thought they would be more versatile (and not stain as easily), but I second-guessed myself as soon as I ordered them. I ordered them in size 37, which I guess corresponds to a US size 6 according to their website (that’s always been my true EU size, and I’m typically a US 7). There are no half sizes at Boden.
Reviews seem to be mixed on sizing, and after wearing my pair around the house a bit, I think my feet need two different sizes… 37 is perfect for my left foot, but my right foot is a touch longer and feels more squished. Boden unfortunately doesn’t do exchanges so I’m trying to decide if I think they’ll stretch enough or if I should just order the 38 and maybe go the insert route if they’re too big?
Items I tried and returned:
I have some Amour Vert gift cards burning a hole in my digital wallet, and I tried to use them on this gorgeous cotton sweater (I love the ivory tan stripe color). I ordered it in two sizes, small and medium, and both looked terrible on me! I’m so bummed that neither size worked. It’s a very thick, heavy knit that felt like too much fabric on me. On the plus size, the quality seemed amazing.
I don’t own a calf-length puffer coat and have been wanting one for those rare days I need a coat that covers my legs. Quince’s long puffer is very nice; it’s warm and even features cuffs and thumb holes on the sleeves to keep snow out. I ordered the shiny black color in size medium and didn’t love the shiny black as much as I thought I would; it looked navy depending on how the light hit it.
What’s on deck for spring:
Spring (work) things from Quince!
I don’t have much on my spring wish list, but I am planning to order a bunch of things from Quince to spruce up my spring/summer wardrobe. I’m unfortunately going to have to go back into the office more often soon so I think I need a few more “professional” items. I pared down the items I did have since COVID… and my size keeps changing. I specifically have my eyes on ponte pants (skinny and straight leg) and washable silk tops (and possibly dresses).
More workout gear!
As I said earlier, I’m cycling between three pairs of leggings for barre classes right now. That’s been fine so far, but I do have to launder them fairly frequently. I’m considering other activewear options since I really don’t have a lot (leggings, bike shorts for summer, sports bras, loose tops, etc.), including Athleta, Beyond Yoga, Girlfriend, Old Navy, Quince, among others.
