Two bloggers, one garment: Peplum top
For the final installment of the first edition of "Two bloggers, one garment", Leah, the creator of personal style blog Morning Ink, and I styled our long-sleeved peplum tops by Elegantees (designed in collaboration with Chelsea of Truelane--formerly known as Zipped). I actually started following her blog after I came across one of her outfit posts in which she styled this top, as I was planning on getting it for myself!
Leah is a young professional and soon-to-be full-time graduate student currently residing in Houston, Texas. I adore her girly-meets-edgy style and her wit. She wears affordable pieces--and if you couldn't already tell--I love following bloggers that have accessible style. (AND she rewears her pieces, which I love and very much appreciate!) She is a relatively new blogger, and I'm very happy she added her voice to "Blogland", especially since her ethnicity is so underrepresented.
For this look, I had a really hard time deciding what to wear with my top! I previously featured this top with boyfriend jeans and wedges. I decided to pull out my grey skinny jeans (which, by some unknown reason, they have not made their way to the blog yet even though I wear them all the time). After much debate, I decided to finish the look with my wedges and a statement necklace.
I love how Leah styled her top with a mini skirt! It looks SO good! I tried on my top with a skirt and it looked so wrong, but her skirt has the perfect amount of volume so that it doesn't overpower her. Of course, the tights, booties, and jacket are perfect additions for fall. :) Also, did anyone else notice how our outfits are kind of opposite each other? (I'm wearing black on top, grey on bottom and she's wearing the opposite!) Be sure to check out her full post to see more photos and outfit details.
I hope you guys enjoyed this mini series! I had a lot of fun collaborating with some of my blogger buds, and I hope to do this again in the spring with some other friends! :)
My outfit details: Elegantees top (short-sleeved version in blue or preorder the exact top in grey; last seen here) / Madewell jeans (similar) / ModCloth wedges (similar) / Moorea Seal necklace (similar from Lulu's)
