Maximum style
One article of clothing I've historically shied away from is the maxi skirt (or maxi dress). There's something about the style that never worked on me; I could never find one with the right length, and I've never been a fan of the ones that were ruched along the sides that were really popular a few years back (and that are still relatively popular in Utah). So, imagine my surprise when I decided that I wanted one a year ago. I never found one I liked last year, but that wasn't the case this year. I was surprised when I tried on this ASOS skirt and found that I liked how it fit and I liked the slit (though it does go quite high which isn't really a problem unless it's windy...and it was windy on this day!).
I think maxi skirts are so chic paired with crop tops, so for its first outing, I wore it with my cropped Madewell tee and knotted it for extra dimension. I completed the look with gold accessories and was ready to wander around in the heat even though it was entirely too uncomfortable to be outside for long! Summers in Idaho are just as bad as summers in Utah. ;)
P.S. Thank you to my brother, Will, for taking my outfit photos!
