Evening in leaves
This outfit is one I've had in my head for a few days. I was super excited to wear it out today! This cardigan is like wearing a Snuggie, except it's way cuter than a Snuggie. It's so wonderfully cozy. It's my first real oversized cardigan. I'm looking forward to cuddling with it when the wintertime temperatures arrive. Speaking of winter, it's basically nowhere to be seen in the 10-day forecast! Woohoo! Below is an image of the GFS forecast showing the 500 mb geopotential heights (in meters) in the white contours (and sea level pressure in millibars shown in the black contours, but I'm focusing on the geopotential heights) at 0Z tomorrow (5 pm tonight MST). There's a shortwave trough (lower pressure) in the Midwest, a shortwave ridge (higher pressure) just to the east of the trough, and another trough along the East Coast. A ridge is starting to build in over the western US.
Here's the GFS forecast of 500 mb geopotential heights and sea level pressure at 18Z on Monday, November 11th (about 11 am Monday morning MST). Notice the nice ridge built in over the western US and the trough hanging out over the Great Lakes.

This ridge is keeping our temperatures mild and early fall-like. We won't be getting any precipitation for a while which could mean bad news for the local ski resorts. I'm definitely soaking up the warmth because come December, I'm really going to miss it!
Apologies for the blurry photos. The light was disappearing very quickly!
