Oktoberfest at Snowbird
This past weekend, Chris and I and one of our friends ventured up into the mountains to check out Oktoberfest, held annually at Snowbird Ski Resort. We had absolutely gorgeous fall weather, and I was so happy to wear my leather jacket to the event! (I also brought my red/navy/black plaid blanket scarf--previously featured in this post--but it ended up being too warm for it.) Even though I do not consider myself a beer drinker, I did buy myself a souvenir glass stein. The stein purchase included filling it with a beer of my choice, and I picked a Viennese Lager, which ended up not being bad (and not actually a German beer?). In hindsight, I probably should have had them fill it only halfway...but I did end up drinking it all! (Slowly...!) We also gorged ourselves on authentic German cuisine (potato pancakes and spaetzel for me, bratwurst for Chris) and enjoyed walking around the resort/laying in the grass, soaking up the mid-October sunshine. I purchased a chocolate covered Belgian waffle before taking off back down the canyon and into the valley. The fall colors in the mountains are always so beautiful!
