Downtown

Whew! These past couple of weeks have been a bit crazy! After we got home from Mexico, my boyfriend and I drove down to Utah for a few days of fun. We saw the Foo Fighters, The Nutcracker, Lady Gaga, and the Utah Gymnastics team preview meet—one event a night for four nights! It's been a struggle to keep up with the blog to say the least. ;)

During the day, we checked out a few of my old stomping grounds in Salt Lake City, including the City Creek shopping center downtown. The shopping in SLC isn't the best—compared to LA or NYC—but it is so much better than the shopping in Boise! I have to make a stop at Madewell and Nordstrom every time I visit. I ended up forgetting both socks and regular tights on this trip, so having those stores nearby definitely came in handy, haha.

Our first day in the city was freakin' cold, and even though it warmed up about 10 degrees for our last couple of days there, I was very happy to have brought along my coziest sweaters, big scarves, and my newest coat addition, a packable puffer! This week of frigid temperatures was the coat's first major test, and I have to say that I'm quite impressed with how warm it kept me. Of course, I wore wool or cashmere sweaters all week, but the extra layer was definitely helpful. Plus, the fact that it's packable means it's easy to travel with!
