Theory vs. reality
Have you ever thought of an outfit that worked so perfectly in your head and then not so perfectly in action? That's what happened with this outfit. I knew I wanted to try wearing chunky socks with ankle boots. My outfit started with the bottom half, though I originally planned to wear my navy marled socks. I ended up not loving them with any of the tops I put on, plus I liked the contrast of the beige more (and it tied in both the sweater and the earrings). It took me forever to decide on a top to go with it all, and then I gave up and went with the obvious choice. (Bonus: It was warm enough to wear the sweater sans coat!) Still, the socks bunched weirdly so the outfit didn't quite turn out as I had hoped it would. If I were to repeat it, I'd leave out the socks. Sometimes things work better in theory than in reality. ;)
In other news, today officially marks the start of meteorological spring! I could not be more excited to see winter coming to an end. It feels like the snow won't give up. (It snowed here the past couple of days...) While we still may see some snow this month, hopefully the temperatures rebound and we'll feel some warmth, too! I'm dying to feel the 70s that the rest of the country got last week. Ha!
