Finding the joy in getting dressed
One of the major reasons why I started my blog in the first place was because I was tired of my clothes and the way I was dressing. I was a year into graduate school by that point and not having any sort of fun with my clothes. The things I wore felt blah and frumpy (and were mostly carried over from my college years). There's something about dressing more confidently that makes me feel more confident and do things with more confidence, and I'm sure it's the same for you, too.
I started buying things that made me happy when I wore them—and then my love for getting dressed was born. Now, I love everything I wear (and if I don't love something as much, I rehome it in the hopes that the next owner will love it). One of my favorite things to do now is dream up new outfit combinations—and I think the effort I put into creating outfits is directly related to my blog. Outfit posts are still among my favorites to put together no matter how much the blogosphere is evolving. :)
All that said, this outfit is made up entirely of pieces I love: a sweet Peter Pan-collared top (one of my only remaining "twee" items), a floaty mini skirt, my dream Charlotte Olympia 'Kitty' flats, a simple pair of stud earrings that go with everything, and my signature sunglasses (I've worn these for well over a year now!). It's so fun to have a closet full of items I love and that make getting dressed a joy every day!
