Cool for the summer
It figures that right as I'm about to transition to summer outfits, a major cold front sweeps through that drops the high temperature almost 30 degrees! The past couple of days have felt a lot more like a summer you'd experience up in the mountains or at a high latitude location like Alaska, haha. It rained almost all day yesterday, which is fairly unusual for this time of year. Normally it's hot, and if it does rain, it comes in short convective storms and not in a drawn out system that lasts for hours. I shouldn't complain, though; it will be 100°F here soon enough so it's nice to have a few mild days.
This spring-like weather provided the opportunity to pull out a cozy summer-weight sweatshirt-top (is it a sweatshirt? is it a top?). I've had this one from Madewell since I believe 2014; it was one of my first purchases from the brand, and it remains a favorite! The last time I featured it here was actually in the last outfit of last summer, which I had totally forgotten about. It's funny what I'm reminded of by having a blog. Let's just not look at outfits older than a year ago... ;)
I pulled out my pink denim for this look because they've been relegated to weekend wear. They're pretty much leggings, so they're pretty comfortable even with the high waist. And even though I am wearing a glorified jeans and sweatshirt combo, what's a summer outfit without flip-flops? ;)
