A Uniform to Fall Back On
I’m not one to wear a true uniform day in and day out, but I do have my go-to outfit combinations that make it really easy for me to get ready for work in a pinch. For the fall, as much as I love to rely on a good cozy sweater + skinny jean combination, I also love to pull out my sweater blazers. I have two of the same style from J.Crew: one in camel/light tan (shown here) and one in a light grey so I can wear one with whatever neutrals I’m feeling that day (I’m typically not a huge fan of mixing brown/warmer colors with grey/cooler colors…but I do love brown with black, as evidenced here).
There’s something about a good cognac brown and black outfit that feels so rich to me, especially at this time of year. I can’t get enough! I love the striped tee and variation in browns that give the outfit more depth. The camel color of the sweater blazer is pretty close to my skin tone, so I decided that I prefer wearing a long-sleeved top underneath to add some much-needed contrast. I love how it all came together! It’s a perfect look for work with my matchy-matchy tote: the one I wear/use every day! Madewell recently released a zip-top version of the medium Transport tote, which would be an amazing feature if you want to use the tote for travel.
What’s your go-to “uniform” (or uniforms) for fall? And speaking of falling back, how did the time change associated with the end of Daylight Saving Time go for you? I always appreciate the extra hour of sleep, but I hate that it’s dark when I leave work. It always feels like it’s so much later than it is! Only four more months until DST starts again… :)
