Fair weather fan
It’s my favorite time of year: sweater + shorts season! You could definitely say that I’m a fair weather fan. ;) This may be an incongruous outfit combination…but I love it, and I take any opportunity I can to wear it since this season is short lived. I break out my lighter linen or linen-blend sweaters to wear with shorts on these mild-to-warm days since they provide some coverage from the sun and wind and also allow me to stay cool. This cotton-linen sweater by Everlane features a loose weave that was made to wear with shorts.
I recently picked up these high-rise shorts by Madewell since it seems like every year I start disliking the fit of the shorts I bought in previous years (the struggle, lol). This is my first pair of Madewell denim shorts and likely won’t be my last! They consistently have one of my favorite fits, and I love the high rise for wearing with cropped tops. Hopefully I’ll still like how they fit next year!
I ended up wearing this look to a Boise State softball game last weekend—and they won! I stayed cool thanks to a light breeze, but the early afternoon sun beat down a little harder than I had expected and I got slightly sunburned on my legs. Eep! I’m glad I remembered to wear a baseball cap. (Not pictured: my grey Seattle Mariners cap that totally didn’t go with the rest of my outfit…haha.)
