Warm Weather Monochrome
Alright, y’all. Are you ready for a little bit of warm weather fall outfit inspiration? This outfit is for those of you that live where fall means temperatures in the high 60s-80s, and I know that a large portion of the country is currently experiencing arctic temps, haha. What can I say? I have perfect timing!
Once upon a time, it was warm here (as evidenced by this outfit)…but we had a cold front come through this past weekend that dropped our high temps to the 40s and overnight lows to the 20s! BRRR! The front also brought with it wind, and now the leaves of half of the trees are on the ground. The worst part is when the trees lose all their leaves. 😩 Leaf season is far too short!
Anyway, back when it was warm enough for bare legs, I figured I had to pull out my new Madewell dress! Since the dress is a thin knit, it doesn’t make for a great dress to wear when it’s cold out; it would need a lot of layers on top to keep warm, and the skirt would probably catch on tights, so you’d need a slip. I knew when I purchased the dress that it would only be worn without tights on warm days, and it’s a particularly great dress for a WFH summer just in case that’s a thing again next year (I purchased it too late to wear it this summer).
The grey color of the dress already lends itself well to a darker color palette, typical of what I like to wear in the fall. To make it even more fall-appropriate, I threw on my faux leather jacket and added a pair of boots that always makes me feel like a badass! Both the jacket and the boots were #nsale purchases from a couple of years ago or so that are still going strong.
I’m not sure that I’ll get another chance to wear a dress or skirt sans tights this season, unfortunately. Have you been taking advantage of warmer weather to wear your dresses/skirts, or are you solidly in the pants camp?
