Link Love, vol. 18
If you’re ready for a break from the news, here are a bunch of random links and things. 🤗 I wanted to start by sharing three things I’m thankful for right now: 1) my parents for making us family dinner and dropping it off on our doorstep this past weekend; 2) spring thunderstorms; and 3) reality TV that gives me a break from the current reality.
What are three things you’re thankful for right now or that make you happy?
Last Tuesday, a magnitude 6.5 earthquake rattled the state (and beyond)! The epicenter was located in the middle of a mountain range in the center of Idaho in an area with past seismic activity (and no, it has no relation to Yellowstone whatsoever). It was my first real earthquake; the whole house shook, I was sitting on the couch confused for half of it before I realized what it was, and my cats didn’t react at all. The shaking lasted for at least 30 seconds! Luckily, it wasn’t violent. Nothing in my house fell or broke. I have felt some of the larger aftershocks (around the M3.5–M4.6 mark) and am a little bummed we haven’t gotten any in the M5 range!
We recently binge watched Love Is Blind on Netflix. We’re working on Car Masters (trying not to watch all the episodes at once even though it would be really easy!), and next up is Tiger King. Any other shows you’d recommend?
I loved reading Alissa’s post on why she blogs. I 100% agree with her take on “Instabloggers”—if all you have is an Instagram, you’re not a blogger.
I have decided how I’m going to blog outfits right now…with a work from home/quarantine style sudoku! It’s going to look a lot different compared to my April style sudoku from last year. I am tentatively planning to do one each month for as long as we are locked down/I’m working from home (tentatively because items/outfits will get repetitive if this lasts for a while).
This juicy Twitter thread was mind-boggling to me. I truly don’t understand how anyone can still defend/follow the “influencers” that left town when they were supposed to be staying at home. (I unfollowed one—a blogger I’d followed since when I started my blog.)
Like everyone else, we’ve been trying to make most if not all of our meals at home. Green Chef has been a lifesaver lately, but since it only provides three meals, we’ve been supplementing with other easy favorites. I have this lemon chickpea soup on my to-make list (it features items we keep in our pantry regularly).
Dua Lipa’s latest album, Future Nostalgia, is full of bops!
