In My Cart: A Mix of Fashion, Beauty, and Home
Even though I’m no longer in school and do not have any offspring, I still find myself browsing my favorite retailers for good deals at this time of year. Can take the lady out of school, can’t take away the urge to back to school shop out of the lady. Or something like that…haha. Anyway…
This edition of “in my cart” features a mix of fashion, beauty, and home items. Some of the items I’ve purchased recently and the others I plan to purchase soon (or may end up not purchasing, as the items will likely sell out before I can buy *cough Nordstrom Anniversary Sale cough*). Have you been window shopping, finding any gems, and/or making any good purchases recently? Let me know!
The Container Store — As much as my grand organizing plan in my 2020 “life reset” fell apart, I’m still doing little home organization projects here and there. I plan to purchase more of the clear drawer organizers (I love these for anything and everything) and clear storage bins (also great for anything and everything). I have a corner full of shipping stuff that I hold onto for Poshmark sales, and I would like to get it organized with a rolling cart that tucks away. I’m also a big fan of belly baskets! I want it even though I have no idea where I’d put it. I’m thinking maybe by the door for our used masks? I’m definitely the type of person that buys now then figures out where it’s useful later, haha!
Target — I placed an order recently, mostly because I wanted the folklore CD, and of course, because I needed something to meet the order minimum, I found these shorts. I purchased them in mulberry (shown) and am wearing them as I write this! Size XS fits me well in my current pandemic size (I’d size down if you’re in-between). Because they’re inexpensive, comfy, and have POCKETS, I plan to buy them in all the other colors: black, grey, and navy. I also purchased a second yoga block; for some poses, I would like to have a block for each hand/arm! And in all of my browsing, I found a gorgeous navy blue set of dinner bowls (we LOVE these for containing messy meals; we own a couple of the same bowls in white) and a faux fur blanket bc #fall! (Really loving everything from the Project 62 line lately…)
Sephora — Beauty insiders can get $15 off $75 or $20 off $100 with code WELCOMEBACK now through 8/23. I’m going to re-purchase Korri’s favorite philosophy bubble bath as well as the Herbivore coconut milk bath soak for him to try. I wanted to get the Briogeo birthday gift next month, but it’s sold out online! I’m so bummed and annoyed because I won’t use the other options. Maybe I’ll just go ahead and buy the full size Briogeo deep conditioning mask to try? I’ve also heard rave reviews of the Olaplex No. 0 hair treatment kit (the kit comes with No. 3!) and the rose hip seed oil by The Ordinary. (Note that the WELCOMEBACK code cannot be used when The Ordinary products are in your cart; purchase those separately with code FREESHIP!)
Nordstrom — If you’re like me, you’re waiting for the public access of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, which opens up this Wednesday morning. Today was the first day I really browsed the sale, and by that I mean I checked what some of my favorite brands were offering and didn’t look at the rest. Haha. I like to rely on other bloggers to do the deep diving. I added some things to my wish list, and we’ll see what’s in stock and what’s not when it’s time. As of the time of this post, these items were available in most sizes. I kinda want to add a second Barefoot Dreams circle cardigan and another pair of slippers to the WFH outfit rotation. As much as I don’t need another pair of boots, I looove these waterproof (!) snakeskin-print boots by Blondo (there’s also a white colorway!). I might also try to buy the Fresh face cleanser set because I’m working through my products and stash of samples pretty quickly!
If you’re interested, last year I put together a post sharing everything I purchased in past Nordstrom Anniversary Sales. I’ve had a lot of good buys but also a few duds. And remember, the items that do not sell out will go on deeper sale in a month or so!
