All of my sunflower field dreams came true this past weekend! I finally got out of the house for more than just an errand run and visited a local farm, Linder Farms, with Korri and his parents for a lil late summer photo shoot. Linder Farms is primarily known for their fall festival (events consisting of a corn maze, pumpkin patch, etc.) but this year also planted a sunflower field, which every local photographer has taken advantage of—for good reason, of course! I booked a time slot this past weekend to shoot my final summer outfit of 2020 and take some photos with Korri.

I asked this in Instagram stories and I want to know: Do you associate sunflowers with summer or fall?

To be honest, I think of both seasons when I see sunflowers! I couldn’t decide whether to go with a summery outfit or a more autumnal outfit for this outing but ended up picking summer (this decision was mostly guided by the weather). It was a warm day but the wildfire smoke made a nasty return over the weekend. It made for great lighting but not exactly great air quality. The west coast needs cooler weather and rain badly!

Deciding what to wear to the sunflower fields was probably the biggest decision I made all weekend and I left it for the last minute, of course. I knew I wanted to wear one of my floppy hats. I ended up also wearing my chambray dress that I had purchased two years ago to wear to a friend’s wedding and hadn’t worn again until this year! It fits a liiittle more snug this year, not surprisingly. Ha. I finished the outfit with platform sandals but had a difficult time walking along the rutted dirt ground. Pretty glad I didn’t roll my ankles! Korri coordinated with a brown and blue patterned linen shirt and white shorts.

While searching for similar chambray dresses for this post, there were a bunch that caught my eye! I ended up rounding up over 20 chambray dresses under $100 in the widget below. I tried not to get carried away but there were so many good ones!
