It’s still smoky here (can you see the orange tint in the photos?), and if it weren’t for the smoke, it would still feel like summer. As it stands now, our high temps are staying in the 80s instead of the 90s. I appreciate the cooler temps but not the reason behind them! It looks like there will finally be an opportunity for wetting rains over the wildfires this weekend. Fingers crossed!

If it’s going to feel cool outside, I may as well dress for it, right? This dress always make an appearance in the fall and spring; the long sleeves make it perfect for the transitional seasons. (See how else I’ve worn it: spring 2020, spring 2019, late summer 2018, spring 2018.) In the past, I’ve worn it only with sandals, and I tended to prefer a sandal with a heel. This time, I was inspired to try them with ankle boots—and I specifically picked out boots with a taller shaft. I don’t typically gravitate towards taller shafts with knee-length or longer skirts/dresses because they shorten the leg line (I’m already short!), but I’m feeling this look right now. (And Korri said I looked good, which was a nice ego boost, haha.)

My exact Madewell boots are no longer available but they always have great ankle boot options every fall/winter! Have you browsed their new arrivals?
