8 Black-owned Brands to Shop at Target
Target was my go-to shopping destination through college and grad school and is still one of my favorites to this day. How is it that they always have everything I need and also everything I don’t? Back when I shopped in person, I was definitely one of those people that couldn’t just run in and grab what’s on my list and run out. Ohhh, no. I browsed each section to make sure there wasn’t anything extra calling for me to take home (especially in the home decor section—my weakness!). It’s almost better now that I’m only shopping online; I’m literally only buying what’s on my list—unless I need to get to that pesky $35 shipping threshold, and then I might add something random, haha!
One of my favorite new features on the Target website under each product is the “At a glance” section under “About this item”—it’s so easy to quickly find clean products and products free of specific allergens. Bonus: There’s even a disc that highlights the products that are from Black-owned or -founded brands! I love that they make it so easy to support Black-owned brands at the same time that I’m shopping for all the other everyday things I need.
There are a wide variety of Black-owned brands available at Target, but I curated a list of eight to feature here, including a few products I’ve tried or that are on my list to try. These brands span beauty, skincare, wellness, and grocery!

8 Black-owned Brands to Shop at Target
1. Partake
I just added the chocolate chip cookies to my next Target order; they’re vegan and gluten-free! I’m not 100% gluten-free, but Korri prefers to eat gluten-free, and I love trying gluten-free products. I’m continually impressed by how far they have come!
2. The Honey Pot
I’m on #TeamIUD, but lucky for me, I still get a period every month. Whew! While I’ve switched almost entirely to Thinx period underwear, I’m purchasing the herbal-infused pantyliners next time I’m in need. I’ve heard only good things about their products!
3. Specific Beauty
Need a new facial cleanser? The daily gentle facial cleanser looks like an excellent option; plus, it’s free of dyes, fragrances, and parabens! Other skincare products are also offered.
4. The Lip Bar
Don’t let the name fool you—The Lip Bar offers more than just lip products! I was drawn to this vegan eyebrow gel and pencil, which seems perfect for those of us with strong and unruly eyebrows and comes in three colors!
5. SheaMoisture
I recently purchased the coconut oil daily hydration body wash since my current body wash is almost out, and I’m sooo excited to try this! It sounds absolutely heavenly, and I love that it’s clean and free from parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.
6. ROSEN Skincare
All of their skincare products come highly rated, and I’m particularly interested in trying their tropics toner once my current toners are out since it’s good for acne-prone skin (and unfortunately I still get some breakouts during my cycle).
7. Beauty Bakerie
These are the sweetest beauty products you ever did see. Everything looks like candy! The pinch of suga lip scrub looks right up my alley. I usually slop a lip product on before bed to keep my lips hydrated and this looks like a great option!
8. Golde
I’ve been drinking the cacao turmeric superfood latte blend for a couple months now and enjoying it! Turmeric is a really strong flavor, but it blends well with chai and almond milk, which my preferred drink of choice. I’m looking forward to trying the skin hydration ade next!
Do you have any go-to products from Black-owned brands at Target? Let me know! I’m always looking for products to add to get me to the free shipping threshold, haha.
