What to Wear to a Taylor Swift Concert
If you know me, you know I’ve been a fan of Taylor Swift since she released her first single, Tim McGraw. I consider myself a chronically online Swiftie, and to many people I know, I’m the “Taylor Swift girl”—are you the same?! I’ve been very fortunate to have attended every Taylor Swift tour since Red, including The Eras Tour, and I have tickets to see her again in 2024. (I wish the ticket buying experience wasn’t as terrible as it was!)
If you’ve never seen Taylor live and have plans to see her soon, I’m SO thrilled for you. There’s honestly no concert that compares in my experience! Especially The Eras Tour—it’s over 3 hours long! I saw Foo Fighters on tour a few years ago and they performed for three hours, and I wished so badly we could get a Taylor show that long, and now here we are. It makes me so happy!
One of the best ways you can make your Taylor Swift concert experience memorable is by wearing a fun outfit that matches the vibe. Some Swifties go ALL out with their outfits by making costumes by hand or going with a group in a coordinating theme. You’ll still have fun even if you don’t do all that; you can definitely put together a concert outfit from items you probably already own and finish your look with a few new pieces. I’m here to help!
Below, I rounded up outfits you’d love to wear to any of Taylor Swift’s concerts, including The Eras Tour outfit ideas for all 11 eras! I also included casual outfit ideas, comfy outfit ideas, outfits for mom, and outfits for dad. There’s also shopping widgets in case you have your eyes on anything in particular.
Let me know in the comments what you’d wear to a Taylor Swift concert and which show(s) you’re going to!

Taylor Swift Concert Outfit Ideas
What To Wear To A Taylor Swift Concert
The Taylor Swift concert outfit opportunities are ENDLESS. Truly. Just about anything goes! I’ve dressed on theme (handmade tees and red pants for Red Tour, of course) and I’ve dressed with no real theme in mind (I attended a baseball game right before one of my Seattle Eras Tour shows, so I just wore my baseball outfit lol).
My go-to outfit formula for what to wear to concerts includes a simple (but fun) top, a pair of jeans or pants (skinny or wide-leg), and ankle boots or sneakers. There are other factors to keep in mind, like whether you’re in general admission or have a seat, what the weather is doing outside (and inside the venue if it doesn’t have a roof), if you think you’ll be dancing and jumping a lot (don’t wear heavy jewelry or stiff shoes), among others.
No matter what your outfit is, here are a few things I highly recommend for any Taylor Swift concert (and any concert in general), especially Eras Tour:
An unfussy outfit—something you feel comfortable in and don’t have to constantly adjust
Comfortable shoes—you’ll be on your feet for most if not all of the concert
A stadium-approved clear bag (I have this fanny pack)
A poncho if there’s a threat of precipitation
A pair of socks to keep in your bag if you’re at a rain show and to change into if your feet get soaked
Sunscreen!!!
Below, I rounded up collages featuring items you can wear to a Taylor Swift concert (including The Eras Tour) based on each era (debut/self-titled, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights) as well as ideas for what to wear if you’re a mom, dad, wanting to dress casual, and/or wanting to dress comfy! The items in these collages add up to well over 30 outfit ideas.
If you’ve never been to a Taylor Swift concert, I need you to know one thing: You do NOT have to dress up if you don’t want to. If you want to go all out on your outfit, please do! I just don’t want anyone feeling like they need to drop a lot of money on an outfit you’ll only wear for a few hours. You definitely don’t need to spend a lot of money on your outfit and you don’t even have to buy anything new if you don’t want to! Shop your closet, try on a bunch of pieces, and see what kinds of outfits you can come up with. You’ll have the best time no matter what! 🫶🏻
Taylor Swift Debut Era
Since I’ve been a Swiftie since Taylor’s debut (or self-titled) era, I feel a lot of nostalgia around this era! I blared Tim McGraw and Our Song while driving around in my parents’ convertible in high school with my friends. Haha! If you love country Taylor, channel debut with your outfit—grab a flowy dress (or slim tank and jeans) and finish your outfit with cowboy boots and a cowboy hat! Don’t forget to curl your hair to REALLY honor baby Tay.
Taylor Swift Fearless Era
When I think of the Fearless era, I think of all things sparkly and shiny: metallic gold, silver, crystal, rhinestone, sequin! Mixed metals are in and totally fun to wear (even Taylor herself mixes gold and silver with her Fearless outfits on The Eras Tour)! Wear a mini dress that you can twirl in, boots that you can jump in, and sparkly jewelry to really pull it all together. I also recommend adding sparkly eyeshadow and nail polish for your hand heart!
Taylor Swift Speak Now Era
The Speak Now era is a special one. This is the first album Taylor wrote all on her own! Even though this album is country, it is defined by the color purple. Ask anyone what color Speak Now is and they’ll say purple! Wear a sparkly or boho purple dress to really channel Speak Now vibes. You could also opt for purple separates mixed with simple basics, and of course, a pair of sparkly sneakers or cowboy boots to tie it all together.
Taylor Swift Red Era
Taylor Swift’s Red era is characterized by—you guessed it—all things red! Taylor wore lots of more classic outfits during Red era (with jeans or pants and oxford shoes), and on her Red Tour, she sang surprise songs in a black striped tee and red pants. She ALWAYS wore her classic Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, so definitely don’t forget those. And you must finish your Red era outfit with a bold red lip, like Nars lipstick in dragon girl.
Taylor Swift 1989 Era
You’ll never go out of style in a fun outfit inspired by the 1989 era! Taylor went full pop in 1989 and I was fully on board with her new genre. When you think of 1989, you probably think of New York City, but you may also think of the beach thanks to the cover of 1989 Taylor’s Version. Pull out the shine and sparkle for the big city OR go comfy to the concert in a sweatshirt and jeans! Definitely keep the red lip classic thing that we all like.
Taylor Swift Reputation Era
…are you ready for the reputation era collage?! In my opinion, this is the easiest era to dress for if you like wearing and own a lot of the color black! Basically, if you put together a monochrome black outfit and add some snake details and a bold red lip, you’re good to go. Try to have fun with your outfit by mixing it up with the textures—leather is always fun and a little sparkle and shine also channels New Year’s Day!
Taylor Swift Lover Era
The Lover era is full of sugary sweet pop goodness (along with a few deep cuts in true Taylor fashion)! If you want to dress like it’s a cruel summer, look for items in pastel colors, particularly pastel pinks and blues. Wear all the heart items (I rounded up quite a few in the widget). Rainbow is fun as a nod to You Need to Calm Down. Look for items with a bow and arrow to rep The Archer. Then, finish your outfit with a sweet pink lip color!
Taylor Swift Folklore Era
Taylor Swift’s Folklore era marked another change in genre for her—and I welcomed the change! (Plus, surprise album drops are always fun.) Folklore is characterized by floaty dresses, flannel shirts, earth tones, and pretending we live in the woods. I love this era for the cozy clothes you can wear if it’s chilly outside! Think wool, corduroy, denim for your Folklore era outfit, and complete your look with boots and dainty jewelry.
Taylor Swift Evermore Era
The Folklore era only lasted a few short months before the Evermore era took over! I honestly could NOT believe that Taylor surprise-dropped two albums in only a few months’ time. Evermore has very similar vibes to Folklore. You can match Taylor by wearing a long orange dress with brown boots. The green velvet dress also matches her cape. Trousers, turtlenecks, and plaid coats fit the cozy Evermore theme, too!
Taylor Swift Midnights Era
If you love glitter and sequins, the Midnights era is YOUR era. Sequined mini dresses or skirts with boots or sneakers are perfectly on theme, and the best part about this era is that pretty much any color goes. I personally love the signature deep midnight blue or sparkly black, but silver, gold, bronze, and emerald green are also awesome options. Even rainbow fits the vibe! If it’s cool out, finish your Midnights outfit with a faux fur coat.
Taylor Swift The Tortured Poets Department Era
Taylor rocked our world when she dropped The Tortured Poets Department in April 2024, and she shocked us (me) even more when she rearranged her set list to add TTPD to The Eras Tour! In my opinion, the TTPD era is a bit tougher to dress for. I drew inspiration from her album photoshoot and her costumes on tour for this collage. Think mesh tops, oversized shirts, silky skirts or dresses, and simple jewelry. The colors are all very neutral: black, white/ivory, and metallics. In the widget, I also rounded up a number of high-waisted bikini bottoms that fit the TTPD theme if you’re feeling bold!
Casual Taylor Swift Concert Outfits
If you’re less into high heels and more into t-shirts, these casual Taylor Swift concert outfit ideas are for you! They’re lighter on the sequins and sparkle but still just as appropriate for The Eras Tour or any other Taylor show. All of these outfits are my vibe!
For a more casual concert look, think a comfy pair of jeans or pants (or shorts if it’s hot out). Wear high-rise bottoms and pair them with a cropped tee or tank. Or, wear a lightweight cotton dress. Layer with a denim jacket if it’s going to cool off after the sun goes down. Complete your look with sparkly sneakers for ultimate foot comfort! I also included a few fun boot options—make them more comfy with insoles. Your feet will thank you!
Comfy Taylor Swift Concert Outfits
This is a mix of comfy outfits for Taylor Swift concerts. They might not all read casual because of the glitter and sparkle, but they are definitely high on the comfort scale! Think leggings, stretchy jeans or pants, layers, minimal jewelry, and flat sneakers or boots.
You might be wondering why the heck I included a sequined dress in one of my comfy outfits. I like this one because it’s a bit longer than other sequined dresses, and it has thicker straps. The shape is much easier to wear/less fussy than some other options. If you’re worried about sequins scraping your arms, add a layer on top! Finish your look with a fun lip color and the all-important stadium-approved clear bag.
Mom Outfits for Taylor Swift Concert
Mommas, these Taylor Swift concert outfit ideas are for you! You’re about to have the BEST day with your kiddos seeing Taylor live, and I know you want to look the part just as much as your kid does but maybe don’t want to wear what Gen Z is wearing.
Grab your comfiest pair of jeans (in whichever style you like best—skinny is just fine!), a simple top (sleeveless, short sleeved, or long sleeved), and finish your look with sparkly jewelry, boots, and/or a sequined bomber jacket! Or—wear a fun sundress with a denim jacket and platform sandals (for extra comfort). Wanna have even more fun? Pick up a slightly longer sequined skirt, add a textured top, and pull it all together with metallic sneakers.
Dad Outfits for Taylor Swift Concert
If you’re a dad headed to a Taylor Swift concert with your kiddos (daddy-daughter dates are the literal cutest), here are a few outfit ideas for you! I basically just tried to think of outfits you might already wear in your everyday life and jazz them up a bit for a fun evening scream-singing Taylor songs.
Wear a henley tee and comfy joggers with a fancier pair of sneakers and leather or suede bomber jacket for something casual-cool. Love wearing your chino shorts and boat shoes? Grab a button-down and baseball cap with Lover-themed colors! Dress down your black pants with a fun striped tee, coordinating sneakers, and Taylor’s signature sunglasses. Find Wonderland while wearing a themed graphic tee with your everyday jeans, and top it off with an unbuttoned lightweight shirt jacket.
