Back to the Office Style Sudoku: Outfits 10–14
It’s time for the final five outfits in my “back to the office” style sudoku! I can’t believe it’s already over (well, besides my makeup day happening next week…haha!). It’s the first time I wore a style sudoku on only the weekdays and took the weekends off. Read my thoughts on each of the outfits I wore below. (Catch the highlights over on Instagram stories!)

OUTFIT 10 • Monday, June 14th
I kicked off the start of the last week of my style sudoku with a fun outfit—I tucked my swingy top into the midi skirt! It does add a little bit of extra bulk around the waist/hips, but I didn't find it that noticeable. I looove the mix of the horizontal and vertical stripes. I ended up wearing this outfit with my camel cardigan because #officeAC. Really like how this one turned out! Sometimes playing around with new combos can result in something you love.
I ended up planning what day I'm wearing each remaining outfit this week so I don't mess up like I did last week. This week is HOT compared to last week, so I'm glad I saved my last two skirt outfits and the last two wide leg crop pants outfits for this week.

Like my wide leg crop pants outfit from last week, this outfit seemed like a good idea in theory but not so much in practice. I'm just not as thrilled with my wide leg crop pants outfits as I thought I would be. The rise is a little bit too short, so I had my shirt tucked in at the start but it came untucked in the back as soon as I sat down. I ended up leaving it tucked only in the front. and even then I couldn't get the tuck looking nice again after using the restroom.
Fussy outfits are pretty much a no-go for me, especially now that I’m back in the office. I don’t want to have to worry about my outfit when I’m at work. This one will not be a repeat even though I love how it looks in photos!

OUTFIT 12 • Wednesday, June 16th
It worked out that my final outfit with jeans (not including my makeup day happening next week) fell on the coolest day of the week. Korri and I went out to lunch for the first time since before the pandemic, so that was fun, even if it's still jarring to me to see people walking around without a mask. I ate my weight in pizza and salad bar! Yum!
This outfit is one of the least exciting from the whole sudoku. I wasn’t sure how much I’d like the top and jeans together since the colors don’t contrast. I don’t hate this outfit but it’s not one of my favorites from this challenge. It did the job! In the office, I wore a cardigan over the top as per usual.

OUTFIT 13 • Thursday, June 17th
Whoop, the final wide leg pants outfit! I preferred this striped tee with the wide leg crop pants over the floral top because at least it stays tucked in better. I still wish the rise on the pants was higher! I can’t believe I’m wishing for a higher rise, hahaha. This felt like a high rise years ago and now it feels low. I recently came across an article that said low rises are coming back…is this true??? We can’t let low rises come back again!!! I will never go back.
I had a last minute addition to my calendar on Thursday: a Zoom call with (what I think was supposed to be) a class/young girls and I was in a panel featuring a few other female colleagues of mine. Only one student showed up—a high schooler—but it was really fun to tell her about what we do and hopefully inspire her to pursue in a career in science (or something adjacent to science) in the future! I learned a lot from my colleagues on the call too because I had no idea what most of them did, haha. I just stay in my little work bubble.

OUTFIT 14 • Friday, June 18th
SURPRISE! I found out right before getting off of work Thursday that we’d have Friday off thanks to our brand new observed holiday, Juneteenth! Happy Juneteenth!!!
So…what does that mean? It means I didn’t actually wear this outfit to the office today, which is a little bit of a bummer bc it’s perfect for the office, don’t you think? I did make plans with a couple of friends I hadn’t seen since well before the pandemic, and I have an appointment to pick up my new eyeglasses in the evening, so I will wear this outfit to those activities! (I anticipate that I will feel a little overdressed, especially in the 95°F heat. Will probably have to shed the blazer at some point.) UPDATE: I didn’t wear this outfit because we were outside and it was far too hot, but I will make it up next week!
This outfit was a bit of a wildcard. I paired the floral blouse with the striped midi skirt in my sudoku and went with it without trying on this outfit beforehand. It turns out the blouse has more of a white background compared to the skirt, so it’s not as great as a combo as I thought it’d be, but overall it’s fun! I love the pattern mixing (I pattern-mixed twice in one style sudoku, who am I?!) and the green, red, and pink color combination. This is how you wear red and green without looking Christmassy!
