If you love skinny jeans, try this denim silhouette!

Why you need to try demi-boot jeans if you love skinny jeans | Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

I have no desire to stop wearing skinny jeans anytime soon. I love ‘em, and they will likely always have a place in my wardrobe. That said, I’ve been feeling a bit…bored by them. My standard uniform over the winter is sweater + skinny jeans + boots. Now that it’s spring, I’m ready for something fresh and new. I’ve tried a few different denim styles, but right now, there’s one denim silhouette that stands out above the rest, and it’s one I recommend if you also can’t quit skinny jeans!

Why You Should Try Demi-Boot Jeans

What is it that you love about skinny jeans? For me, it’s the fact that they’re stretchy and conform to my curves. I like that they don’t get in the way of whatever shoes I’m wearing (or only take a small modification—like a cuff—to stay out of the way). I also consider them to be a relatively timeless silhouette that goes with everything. And dark wash (or black) skinny jeans work for business casual dress codes.

I’ve found that demi-boot jeans offer many of the same qualities as skinny jeans: you can buy a style that is stretchy and that conforms well above the knee. Demi-boot jeans are designed to flare a bit from the knee down, which is what makes them a bit more interesting and fun to style than skinny jeans. Depending on the length you choose (cropped or full length), the bootcut style works with many different shoe options, especially in the warmer months. I love ‘em with mules as shown here!

I’ve tried a few different denim styles and keep coming back to demi-boot jeans as my preferred alternative to skinny jeans. If you’re looking for more of a straight leg silhouette but aren’t a fan of current straight leg styles, try the slim demi-boot jean! The slim style doesn’t have much of a flare so it looks more like a straight leg style. (Read my reviews and comparison of the Cali, curvy Cali, and slim demi-boot jeans offered by Madewell.)

You all know by now that Madewell makes my favorite jeans (BUT I will say that I have not tried any higher end brands; once I discovered that Madewell worked for me, I haven’t felt the need to try many other brands), and I love their demi-boot jeans so much that I just bought this pair to go along with my other three pairs! J.Crew also offers a wide variety of demi-boot styles in various rises and lengths. Shop 'em all in the widget below!
