With the holiday season behind us, it’s now time to turn towards the next colorful holiday, Valentine’s Day! I’ll be honest: Valentine’s Day is not my favorite holiday, and I don’t really care to celebrate it, but I love the opportunity to dress in pink, burgundy, red, and any other color that signifies the day. With it being winter, I wear a lot of sweaters, and I’ve owned sweaters in all of those colors since I started blogging!

Today, I wanted to focus on my pink sweaters in particular! Pink Sweater Outfit with Ponte Pants and Ankle Boots

Dress up your pink sweater by layering a collared shirt underneath, wearing ponte pants, and adding a leather clutch bag! I wore this outfit to see Waitress on Broadway and it felt perfect for the occasion. I love pairing pink with burgundy; you’ll see that combo a lot in this outfit roundup.

Pink Sweater Outfit with burgundy Coat and Jeans

What do you know: Pink and burgundy strikes again! Ha. This time, I paired my blush pink cashmere sweater with a burgundy coat. The jeans and matching cognac brown ankle boots and bag grounded the look. This is a great outfit option for weekend brunch and/or shopping downtown.

Pink Sweater Outfit with Loose Jeans and Green Boots

Instead of pairing your pink sweater with another shade of pink, purple, or red, try wearing it with green! These olive green ankle boots go so well with the vintage pink chenille sweater. I wore light wash loose boyfriend jeans because it was spring and dark wash jeans felt too heavy for spring.

Pink Sweater Outfit with Mini Skirt and Choker

To pull off this look, take your pink sweater and loosely tuck it into a slim mini skirt. You can also use a thin belt to create the illusion of a tucked sweater and prevent any lumps and bumps in the skirt, or you could wear your sweater over a bodycon dress. Add a choker for even more edge!

Pink Sweater Outfit with Dark Jeans and Velvet Flats

This is another way to dress up your pink sweater: simply wear dark wash jeans! Keep the monochrome on the bottom half of the outfit by adding a pair of navy velvet flats (my kitty flats are sadly no longer available). This is the perfect business casual outfit for a warm winter or early spring day.

Pink Sweater Outfit with Dark Floral Skirt

This is one of my favorite pink sweater outfits because I paired my blush pink cashmere sweater with a dark floral skirt that had blush pink flowers in the print. I leaned into the black background of the skirt and finished the look with opaque tights and shiny shoes (for a bit of visual interest).

Pink Sweater Outfit with Burgundy Pants and Tall Boots

This is a variation on a monochrome pink outfit. The texture in the darker pink chenille sweater gives it some dimension and makes it look like there could be some burgundy in the yarn, so the burgundy pants go perfectly! I actually wore this comfy and fun outfit for Thanksgiving a few years ago.

Pink Sweater Outfit with Navy Tulle Skirt

I pulled out a lot of oldie-but-goodie outfits for this roundup! I wore this outfit to present/defend my general exam to my committee (basically a defense of my proposed dissertation topic/timeline). I LOVE dressing up super girly for “professional” events, and this one called for a fun tulle skirt!

Pink Sweater Outfit with Jeans for Work

This isn’t the most exciting pink sweater outfit I’ve ever worn, but it’s one way I’ve worn one of my pink sweaters to work. In the winter, we here in Boise can go weeks with little to no sunshine, so it’s imperative to wear bright colors to boost your mood and contrast the gloomy grey outside!

Pink Sweater Outfit with Utility Jacket and Velvet Flats

It’s hard to see the light pink sweater under my utility jacket, but I wanted to share this outfit anyway because it’s a great way to layer a lightweight sweater for a slightly cooler fall or spring day that doesn’t call for a heavy coat but that’s still too chilly for only a sweater. Just add fun shoes!

Pink Sweater Outfit with Blush Pink Jeans

Lean into your pink sweater by pairing it with more pink! If you’ve been reading CCCH for a while, you know how much I love a good monochrome look, so I had to wear monochrome pink at least once in my life. The blush pink jeans I’m wearing nicely contrast the darker pink sweater.

Pink Sweater Outfit with collared Shirt and Boots

This pink sweater outfit is from my grad school days, but it’s still a good one! I really loved layering this sleeveless collared shirt under sweaters, so of course I had to do that with all of my sweaters at some point. What I love about this outfit is the rosy pink and dark forest green color combo!

Pink Sweater Outfit with Burgundy Ankle Boots

This is another example of an outfit I’d wear to work for Valentine’s Day. It’s a simple outfit, but the burgundy ankle boots add some more (on-theme) color and are more exciting than a pair of black or brown boots. I’m wearing fun earrings here, but it’d also look good with a necklace or other jewelry!

Pink Sweater Outfit with Burgundy Hat and Patterned Skirt

Pink always goes with black and white! Make your light pink sweater outfit more interesting by wearing a patterned skirt (you could also layer a cropped sweater over a patterned dress). Finish the look with a floppy hat (can’t go wrong with burgundy!) and simple black flats to match.

Pink Sweater Outfit with Light Wash Jeans and Flats

This pink sweater outfit illustrates how much the wash of your jeans can change the overall look and feel of your outfit. This is basically the same outfit as ones shared above but with light wash jeans instead of dark wash. The lighter wash instantly brightens it up and makes it feel more like spring!

Pink Sweater Outfit with Collared Shirt and Burgundy Pants

I couldn’t complete this roundup without featuring this Pinterest-favorite outfit! I repeated the preppy vibes by layering the sleeveless collared shirt under my sweater and finishing the look with my leather tall boots. I love the blush pink, burgundy, and espresso brown color combination!

How to Style a Pink Sweater

I hope the outfits above highlight how fun it is to wear pink sweaters. Don’t overthink your own outfits! Here are some tips for styling your favorite pink sweaters, no matter the style:

  • Go monochrome

Wear your pink sweater with more pink items OR with items in another color in the same family, like burgundy or red.

  • Ground your look with denim

You can’t go wrong with a good pair of jeans! Try playing around with the wash; any denim wash goes with pink, even black. The color of your denim will totally change the feel of your outfit.

  • Add layers

Whether with a collared sleeveless shirt or with a top layer, like a jacket or coat, add layers to your pink sweater outfits to make them more interesting.

  • Play with color

Try on outfits featuring other colors in addition to your pink sweater. I personally also love wearing pink with olive green and navy blue, but there are so many other fun colors. Have fun with your outfits!

  • Add some edge

Pink sweaters are considered “girly” because of the color. Contrast that by wearing them with black, under leather or suede jackets, with leather pants, and/or with some chunky statement jewelry.
