Winter 2025 Wardrobe Additions
Just like fall 2024, I did not add many new items to my wardrobe this past winter. My Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale purchases arrived in December, and I didn’t order anything in January. In February, I only placed one order, and I haven’t decided on what I’m keeping and what I’m returning just yet (waiting on an exchange now), so the items I decide to keep will be included in my spring budget update.
I’m honestly SO proud of myself for not overindulging on sartorial purchases the past few months. It’s very easy to get caught up in adding new things, especially over the holiday sale season, and justifying it to myself because “I have a blog! I need to show on-trend items to my readers!” when really, it’s better to encourage you to rewear what you already own and love. It took me MANY years to get to this point, ha.
Below, I rounded up everything I added to my wardrobe this past winter! All of my 2025 clothing purchases will be added to a yet-to-be-created Pinterest board (2024 additions are on this Pinterest board). I also shared the items I tried and returned and what’s coming up for spring!

Winter 2025 Clothing Budget & Wardrobe Additions
$600 (quarterly budget) = $600 - $300 ($300 December + $0 January + $0 February) => $300 left over
Items I added to my wardrobe:
MATE the Label Organic Fleece Quarter Zip Sweatshirt (paid $110 | originally $158)
Back in the late fall, MATE the Label released a few products in a new dark green color called thyme, and I immediately wanted at least one item in it! I ended up going for the quarter zip sweatshirt during their 30% off sale. By the time I ordered, the medium was sold out, so I ended up with a small.
Luckily, it fits exactly as I hoped it would! It’s still loose through the body. It’s not as thick/cozy as I was hoping it’d be (there’s no soft fleece feeling; it’s more like a terrycloth), but it’s a nice lightweight sweatshirt for travel and to wear in the transitional seasons.
MATE the Label Organic Comfort Crop Tank in espresso and black (paid $26 each | originally $38 each)
I wanted to hit the free shipping threshold, so I purchased a couple of these tanks (in espresso and black, size small). I’ve found that I like wearing snug tanks in lieu of a bra on my WFH days and weekends at home, and these are perfect. They do ride up a bit so that’s something I’ll have to get used to.
Quince Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman Turtleneck Sweater (paid $0 - gift | originally $120)
My mom sent me this beautiful sweater for Christmas! I love Quince’s cashmere fisherman sweaters, but I’m going through a phase where I can barely stand even crewneck sweaters (or anything touching my neck at all), so I haven’t worn this yet. It also (luckily) hasn’t been crazy cold here.
Uniqlo Fluffy Yarn Fleece Full-Zip Jacket (paid $32 | originally $40)
I already own two of these fleece jackets (one in size small from a few years ago, one in size medium), and I purchased the light grey in size small when it was on sale. Uniqlo adjusted their sizes between the first time I ordered this jacket and my size medium jacket, so this new size small jacket fits looser than my first size small jacket. I love it! It’s hard not to order one in every color, ha. I wear these all the time during the winter.
Uniqlo Ultra Light Down Long Coat (paid $106 | originally $130)
Along with the fleece jacket, I also ordered this long coat because it was also on sale, and I’ve been wanting a long coat for those below-freezing winter days. I purchased this coat in beige, size medium. It never got cold enough to wear this, though I might need to break it out for an upcoming evening softball game if the wind is bad again!
Items I tried and returned:
I didn’t return anything I bought this quarter!
What’s on deck for spring:
Abercrombie Denim (High Rise 90s Relaxed Jean, Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jean, High Rise Cropped Wide Leg Jean, High Rise Vintage Straight Jean, Ultra High Rise Ankle Straight Jean)
During Abercrombie’s somewhat recent 30% off (+ extra 15% off) sale, I kind of went crazy and ordered a bunch of curve love denim styles to try. The two pairs of straight leg jeans I already own are now too big, so I tried reordering the same styles in smaller sizes and only one wash was in stock.
I thought it’d be worth ordering some other styles and putting together a big review post (coming soon!) to help you out too, because whew, it’s difficult to nail their sizing on the first try! I previously struck out on three of the jeans I ordered back in 2023.
I can’t stop looking at these absolutely stunning velvet loafers even though we are well past the holiday season. I tried Boden loafers a year ago, and they didn’t quite fit me in size 37 (my usual Euro size, though I’m typically a US 7). I may try them again... I find that it’s worth buying the items that I can’t stop looking at or thinking about.
Quince Denim (Straight Jeans and Wide Leg Jeans)
I also included Quince denim on my wish list in my previous budget update and still haven’t purchased any of it to try! There are too many things I want to order, so I just end up ordering nothing, ha. I guess that’s a good problem to have. Maybe I’ll finally place an order this spring? Stay tuned…
